As time passes, the once-secret bridge pier turns into a marshland, while Chou remains faithfully waiting in the same place. When Mo finally returns, Chou sadly discovers Mo has forgotten him. Therefore, Chou has no choice but to view Mo as an illusion because it is the only way he can keep chasing after her and live on.
