Miguel proposes to Marina. Lopes tells Emília that Roberto Steen is interested in her land. Roberto Steen stays at the farm and catches Marina's eye.

Germana compares Marina to Alice. Miguel fears Marina will suffer in her new home. Juliana reveals to Marina that the small room she occupied used to be Alice's. Marina meets Vasco.

Roberto reprimands Juliana. Adélia visits the mansion. Germana prepares a reception and makes a suggestion to Marina. Marina discovers that one of the rooms in the house is kept locked.

Pedro warns Marina about Juliana's feelings for Roberto. Marina confronts Juliana and refuses to follow her orders. Marina asks Roberto to bring Isabel back from the farm.

Filomena mistakes Adélia for Marina and criticizes Alice. Miguel sees Marina and Roberto carving their names into the tree. The New Year's party at the farm begins. Isabel moves to Rio.

Marina accepts Juliana's suggestion and leaves Isabel with the household staff. Roberto pressures Marina to reconcile with Germana. Filomena meets Marina.

Marina’s behavior changes. Adélia reveals to Juliana that she knows about her crush on Roberto. Juliana slaps Adélia across the face. Marina uses Alice’s makeup.

Marina tries to convince Miguel to give Vanice a chance and asks if her cousin is still in love with her. Roberto asks Dr. Moretti for help. Juliana threatens Pedro.

Lopes reveals to Roberto that Emília is facing financial difficulties. Roberto is upset to see Marina using Alice's things. Marina finds a letter from Lúcia.

Munhoz reveals to Pedro that he is interested in Adélia. Isabel reveals to Miguel that she is being mistreated. Marina goes after Roberto and travels to São Paulo. Juliana hides Lúcia's letter.

Marina exposes Roberto's lies. Isabel pressures Marina to return home and reveals that everyone thinks she is possessed by Alice. Marina threatens to hit Isabel.

Marina has a nightmare about Alice's secret room. Roberto gives Adélia a gift. Germana suggests that Marina host a masquerade ball to welcome Lúcia.

Juliana hears Roberto say that Alice's memories of the mansion are influencing Marina. Marina buys gifts for the young Alice. Miguel rents a room in the city.

Lúcia tells Marina that it was Alice's wish for her to be the new Mrs. Steen. Marina becomes jealous of Lúcia and Roberto. Marina goes to mass and runs into Miguel.

Lúcia reveals to Marina that Alice had a diary. Miguel thinks about Lúcia. Marina probes Juliana about Alice's diary. Isabel catches Juliana hiding Alice's chest.

Marina presses Juliana to talk about Olivia after noticing that the girl looks a lot like her. Marina confides her insecurities to Miguel. Roberto becomes furious and gets into an argument with Marina.

Emília opens up to Miguel. Roberto runs into Marina again. Miguel exposes Isabel. Germana finds a note in Vasco's pocket. Miguel has a frank conversation with Roberto.

Marina pressures Roberto and demands to have a child. Roberto makes a confession to Marina. Germana argues with Vasco and discovers whose phone number it is.

Marina and Miguel baptize Rosa's daughter. Germana grounds Vasco. Lúcia consoles Roberto. Marina proposes adopting a child to Roberto.

Marina looks stunning but is reprimanded by Roberto. Juliana reveals to Roberto that Marina goes to the orphanage every day. Marina goes for a walk with Alice. Miguel dreams of Lúcia.

Roberto disapproves of Marina's daily visits to the orphanage. Isabel returns to the mansion and mocks Juliana after dining with their employers. Marina asks Roberto to take Alice to the mansion.

Roberto tries to keep Marina away from Alice and forbids his wife from taking a walk with the girl. Vanice invites Miguel to the carnival ball. Roberto asks Marina to never lie to him.

Lúcia wonders if Miguel accepted Vanice's invitation. Marina lies to Roberto. Vasco opens up to Germana, saying he feels humiliated. Marina takes a dig at Lúcia. Carnival begins.

Miguel argues with Guilhermina and hides Alice's diary. Marina has a nightmare about Juliana. Luiza arrives at the boarding house and meets Miguel.

Alice's chest goes missing, and Marina becomes frantic. Roberto confesses to Miguel that he is not happy. José advises Ondina to stay away from Marina. Filomena takes young Alice to the mansion.

Juliana feels uncomfortable seeing Roberto and Marina kissing. Marina argues with Lúcia. Antônio confesses his feelings to Isabel.

Juliana hands the diary to Adélia. Marina reads the diary and notices that some pages have been torn out. Juliana threatens Isabel. Roberto hands a check to Adélia.

Roberto is furious when he sees the portrait in Marina's hands and says that his wife's obsession is destroying their marriage. Roberto tears up Alice's diary. Marina faints.

Roberto questions Miguel's passion for Marina. Juliana leaves the mansion for her vacation. Pedro Monte photographs Luiza, making Miguel jealous.

Lúcia and Marina argue. Lúcia humiliates Marina and tells her she has squandered the opportunity to discover Alice's secret. Filomena reveals to Marina that Alice has a brother.

Miguel disapproves of Luiza's behavior, and Guilhermina notices his jealousy. Marina asks Roberto to adopt the brother of the girl Alice. Laurita and Germana go to the séance.

Germana makes a revelation to Vasco. Adélia confesses to Germana that she is starting to fall in love. Isabel makes plans before receiving a marriage proposal. Marina asks Munhoz for help.

Marina feels insecure when she finds a photo of Alice in Roberto's office. Adélia gets into an argument with Pedro Monte. Miguel invites Vanice to the theater.

Moretti tells Juliana he suspects Marina is pregnant. Vasco decides not to travel. Juliana assures Moretti that she did not steal the diary pages. Luiza gives Miguel a gift.

Isabel tells Adélia she made a vow to marry Antônio. Miguel follows Pedro Monte and Luiza. Adélia makes a vow. Moretti suggests having Juliana institutionalized.

Roberto reappears at the mansion for Isabel's wedding. Antônio and Isabel get married. Lúcia is involved in a car accident and dies. Roberto makes an offer to Juliana.

Guilhermina gives Miguel some advice. Moretti informs Munhoz that he will announce Marina's pregnancy and questions the diplomat about the pages from Alice's diary. Marina meets Olivia.
